Its official I am now over 50!

Ok its official I am now over 50. All of my plans didnt go according to plan like the girls trip planned to Scottsdale, only did a day trip. Several of the girls had stuff come up like dad had a stroke, car problems, too close to Easter, etc. So I went down with Ellie and did a little shopping and lunch with another girlfriend. Short and sweet. Friday JJ and I and my girlfriend from Phoenix drove to Las Vegas. Sat 2 hours 10 miles outside of the Hoover Damn. I left at 1pm and didnt get to the hotel til 7pm. It should have only taken 4 hours so from Flagstaff. We got checked into the MGM and our room was really nice. Very nice in fact. And where we were located, turned out to be good, we were right off the strip. We got alittle dressed up, Prior to going downstairs JJ pulls out this cute thing to put on my head w/ black fur and 2 red lips sticking up that said Birthday Bitch. Also some beads with a gold coin that said its my birtday bitches. I loved it. It was so perfect for turning 50 and being in Vegas. We went downstairs to the Centrifuse bar. Its a nice little circular bar. They play music and every so often the girls and guys get up on the bar and dance to a few songs. It was fun. We mainly sat there and played video black jack and drank. Left to get food. My friends came in from Dallas area and we hung out. They all got along great. JJ won money. It was very fun. Went to bed around 1 to 2pm. Tired Tired.
Day 2 got up and met up with friends for breakfast. Prior to leaving the room. JJ gave me my card, a personal letter, and a really cool book on all kinds of stuff about 1960. I just loved it. All I really wanted was a letter from his heart and he came thru and did great. It meant so much to me. So from there we went to different hotels and checked out the casinos and played video black jack. Later we all got dressed up, which I didnt mention that week JJ went w/ me to the mall and help me pick out my dress w/ a sweater and a pair of shoes, We ended up at this italian resturant Beutista's hole in the wall. OMG it was delisc. It was from the 60's. Lots of pics of stars and the rat pack on the wall. Free bottles of white and red wine with dinner, a nice salad and home made bread, the main course, and cappachino. They also brought out a piece of spamoni cake w/ a candle and sang happy birthday to me. They also which was my favorite part of the the nite was this little old italian man, reminded me of my grandpa who came from Scisily, played the acordian. He was way too cute. Anyway that was awesome. From there we went to the dive bar which was a dive bar. Live music but the band JJ wanted to see was playing last and the other bands werent that great so we left and went to another place. Finally it was 1am and I was done.
Sunday was awesome. We met up friends again for breakfast and later w/ his family and started walking down the strip. Got lots of good pics. To come later due to needing to find the cable to connect my camera to the computer. We ended up at Harrahs at the carnival court. That is a fun place on Sunday afternoon. Live band, good music too, and the bartenders do fun things w/ the bottles when making drinks. Its outside. Beer more expensive but what great entertainment. It was just so much fun. Met a couple who she teaches in vegas and he is from Australia. Went and did Karioke and watched the dueling pianos. Finally went and got dinner. It was such a great day! We were done by the end of the nite.
All in all it was an awesome weekend. Everyone made it so special. I am so glad I did what I did for this birthday because I needed the distractions from turning 50.

And a last side note. JJ's daughter Sammy is having surgery today. Umbilical hernia and inflamed lymph nodes in her stomach. Poor baby has been hurting for the last week. She is a fighter and strong she will do find. Going down to phoenix after work to be with her.
